THE ‘SCHOLAR LIFE’ SERVICE : ESSENTIAL TO THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF THE SCHOOL
Two Principal Education Advisors (CPE) organise the school life service and coordinate the work of the 6 Education Assistants.
The responsibilities of the ‘vie scolaire’ service are divided into three areas the running of the school:
- control of the number of pupils and their attendance, supervision and safety of the pupils;
- collaboration with the teaching staff and the management team: in order to elaborate joint solutions, exchange of information with teachers on the behaviour and academic results of pupils, particularly in the event of difficulties or absenteeism; participation in the Pedagogical Council and class councils (conseil de classe), collaboration in the implementation of projects;
- organising educational activities: relations and direct contacts with pupils on a collective level (classes or groups) and on an individual level (behaviour, work, personal problems); the management of the Collège and Lycée community houses, the organisation of break time; the organisation of the school community life (training, election and meetings of pupil representatives, participation in school councils, running the collège and lycée students’ life councils)
