At the Lycée Bonaparte, the Labo Maths is a space for educational experimentation that enables creative projects to be developed with pupils, while encouraging teachers to share their approaches. This synergy has led to a number of outstanding achievements this year.
📌 Maths Week
To mark 2025, pupils in 5e and 4e designed posters based on the remarkable properties of the number 2025, a ‘perfect square’ year (45²), which is at once a deficient number, polite… but not perfect! A great way to explore mathematical curiosities.
📌 Happy Pi Day!
On 14 March, the 6e pupils celebrated the number π with fun and educational posters, playing on the Anglo-Saxon writing of the date (3/14).
📌 “Rallye mathématique” by IREM Paris Nord
12 CM2/6e classes took part in the rally on 28 and 29 March 2025. Special mention to Mme Koncewiez’s Descartes group (6eD/CM2C) who came 1st in their group!
📌 The cube ‘outside the walls’: between art and geometry
Pupils from CM2 to 4e have built a cube with a 1 metre edge from small 10 cm cubes, giving a concrete illustration of the concepts of volume. Each side is decorated with geometric rosettes inspired by oriental motifs, providing an opportunity to work on geometric transformations (symmetries, rotations, etc.).
